Hello from Australia,
I have acquired (perks of the job) a set of Hella 5607 LED Daytime running lamps http://db.hella.com.au/cgi-bin/catalogue.pl?flcmd=preview&flmaint=2920 and are going to fit them to my 2009 5 Door GV in the front bumper.
First off has any one out there fitted lamps in this position where lights have not previously been fitted. What is the best way to cut out the blanks and mounting options. Looks like I'll have to make up brackets to Pendulum mount these lamps.
Secondly is on the wiring front. DRL's in Australia are not fitted or active from factory. Is the harness existing and power controlled by the BCM. If so any one know which plug set it might be as there are a few spare plugs floating around the head lamp area as well as what I expect are Fog/Driving lamp harness behind the bumper where the blanks are. (Suspect for the driving Lamps fitted to the Prestige model)or will I have to use this harness already in place and find power sources for ignition and headlights through a Change-over relay to control these DRL's.
Any discussion or advice on the best way to aproach this installation will be appreciated.

Stock fog lamps could only be turned on when low beams are on, so if you use the fog lights wiring, the lights would not work as day running lights. Hope you see what I mean.

I would just wire them up though the ignition to have them on all the time.

Let us know how it goes. A little how-to would be useful to many people.

Thanks Taras, Sounds like a good Plan A to wire, through relay of course, direct to a power source from ignition switch so that DRL was on all the time. Most simple of installs by far. But to go for the factory look they should not be on with head lights and the coppers around here are having a blitz on incorrect use of Driving lamps. No need to give them an excuse to pull you over and risk getting written up.
I endevour to compile a "How to" to share with every-one once I come up with a workable solution.

Australian cops are strict on you guys! No oversized, offset wheels, incorrectly wired driving light... lol

In North America, people drive monster trucks with HUGE lift and wheels on the roads, and nobody cares.

We do need more regulations on those HID kits people are installing on their cars. Everyday I'm driving home when it's dark outside, and every single day some punk in pimped out Honda Civic is blinding me!

HID Upgrade conversion kits are illegal as well. Spot light/driving lights are the only HID permissable unless factory fitted to those you beaut expensive euro luxo barges with self adjusting head lamps. That's not to say you can't get them. Jaycar electronics, Britax have H4 kits ( not seen H7 or HB3 ones yet) with a disclaimer "For offroad use only". Yeh right!!!!!!!! or H1 and H3 conversion kits are everywhere only for Spot lights of course.

Bump. Any - one cut the blanks out of the front bumper. I am not sure exactly how to go about it and are sh*ting bricks about damaging the bumper or making a mess of it.

Holes are cut after getting advise from a suzuki dealer. Used a 24 tooth hacksaw blade and keep pressure by twisting the blade towards the inside of the curve. Cut through the plastic easier than pie. Then just cleaned it up with a conical burr on a die grinder. Compiling how to as I go. Lights look fantastic in the holes, fit perfectly. For those not wanting to spend the money on LED there is a 16W sealed beam version of the same light. Will post link shortly. I also can offer AUD retail pricing if any one is interested.

How to coming soon. Just trying to find the time to compile it and also finish the job to a factory standard.
Have lights fitted just working on wiring. Have found a plug in Head lanp area with power and earth all the time as long as the key is on. Working on the off switching ATM. The LED lamps have a third wire which I believe act as an off switch for the lamp when powered. Waiting on confirmation from Hella.
What I would like to ask of the community here is confirmation that these Suzuki's are designed with earth switching for the head lamps.
